A wonderful overnight stay in the Royal Suite
A wonderful night in the Royal Suite of Kasteel de Hoogenweerth, also known as the bridal suite. Who doesn’t want to experience that? We had the pleasure to discover this great hotel for one night.
Most know this beautiful location of various events such as weddings, but this location offers so much more! Throughout the year you can visit this location for one or more overnight stays from which you can make nice trips to Maastricht and surroundings.
We parked the car in the parking lot that made us feel as if we had landed in Italy. Not much later we were kindly welcomed at the reception located in a former coach house where now 10 design suites have been created. These are all decorated by different designers and the walls are decorated with large photos by photographer Helmut Lang. Oh yeah, did you know you can buy great Dille and Kamille products at the reception?!
Royal Suite
We were super curious about the beautiful room and as expected; it met all our expectations. A spacious suite with everything needed for a wonderful stay, from a large open kitchen and living room, to double showers and a freestanding bath. The weather was sunny and warm so we opened the balcony doors and enjoyed the peace and the view. You would hardly say so, on the edge of the city of Maastricht, but you can really relax here.
After we had dined at the neighbors – SOFA – we filled the bath. Nothing is more relaxing than just laying in a nice warm bath with a glass of bubbles.
After a wonderful night there was a knock on the door in the morning. Breakfast in bed … At least, that’s a possibility. We had our breakfast prepared in the large kitchen where we also opened the doors to the balcony so we heard the birds chirping. If you’re more of self-cooking, then you have a fully equipped kitchen at your disposal and you can bake your own eggs. We limited ourselves to the making of our own coffee..
After checking out we had a super nice conversation with Martin, (co-) owner of the castle. Let’s put it that way, there is a lot of fun waiting for Kasteel de Hoogenweerth. From renovations to creating beautiful new places (along the water). So stay tuned ;).
We will return soon!
