Yes I do
#ACLASSICLOVESTORY
Sometimes you have one of those days where you think, “Let’s do something crazy.”. This day we had early December last year. Rowena saw a message on Facebook by photographer Ralf Czogallik (Eppel Photography) and wedding planner Leontine Lauffer (Il matrimonio Italiano) where they were looking for a couple that wanted to join in a wedding and boudoir photoshoot in Milan! We found the courage and wrote a short email and sent a few pictures with it. The day after we received a very enthusiastic email from Ralf which said; “That’s great! You’re in!!!”
AND SO THE STORY BEGINS …
Monday, 20 February
Once in Milan, we went straight to the hotel. The Town House Galleria, five star luxury hotel. This was really perfectly organized by Leontine. We got a suite, room number 328, with a balcony inside of the Galleria. AMAZING! After we were amazed by the room and view on the balcony we decided to go into the city center for lunch, coffee and cake. Our intention: do as much as possible by foot, so we can see everything. In the evening Leontine and Ralf arrived in the hotel, where we had a delicious dinner together and a few drinks. Around 23:30h we decided to go back to our room because our eyes were nearly closed.
Tuesday, 21 February
Around 08:00h we had breakfast with the 4 of us. A fresh orange juice and double espresso provided us with our much needed vitamins and a caffeine boost. An hour later we got back to our room, Rowena was ready for makeup, Leontine ironing my shirt and busy with the styling and flowers, and I helped Ralf with adjusting / testing his equipment. Yesss finally we started shooting! After the makeup Rowena started with a boudoir shoot. Moments later, it was up to me to stand in front of the camera. Trousers on, shirt and bow tie at ‘half past six’ and the out-of-bed look was complete.
After the boudoir shoot was finished, Rowena got herself dressed in the gorgeous wedding dress ‘Jion‘ by Enzoani and I suited up in the tuxedo from Rietbergh. Completely dressed up we walked through the galleria to have lunch at the restaurant Pulia (definitely a hot-spot). Probably the first time that a ‘wedding couple’ is going to eat pizza for lunch with a team of three, because every waiter in the restaurant came to check us out.
After lunch it was time to really attract some attention, because we stood, as bride and groom, in the middle of the impressive Galleria Vittorio Emanuele Milano! Moments later, between the busy photographing tourists, at the Piazza del Duomo and after the sun was set at the unique Highline Galleria, WOW. It was an unforgettable day, and also for those hundreds of people who now have a picture of us on their iPhone or camera.
I’m almost embarrassed that I have been using the word ‘awesome’ so much, but this totally summarizes these days. Ralf and Leontine are both professionally and personally delightful people. Both have an impressive list of weddings they’ve photographed/organized. We already know who to ask! Right from the first contact it was as if you’re chatting with an old schoolfriend. Tears of joy rolled down our cheeks, and then you know for sure … It’s all good.
Ralf, Leontine, if we can help you again in the (near) future – let us know!
You must be extremely CURIOUS TO see THE PICTURES OF THE SHOOT. THE RESULT IS REALLY INCREDIBLE!
